Vega de Yuco
Winemaker – Tomas Mesa

Vega De Yuco winery was established in 1997 and sits in the valley between Masdache and Montaña Blanca. Their aim is to produce fine wine, which expresses both quality and personality by combining traditional methods, with the newest technology. Their winery was revolutionised on the introduction of the Yaiza brand, and the Island’s now famous blue bottle in the early 2000’s.

Their winemaker and enologist, Tomas Mesa, is from a well-known family of winemakers in Tenerife. Engulfed in the world of wine from a young age, he now finds himself as one of the top viticulturists and winemakers in the Canary Islands.

Colour
Pale yellow with clean shades that indicates its freshness and youth.

Aroma
A high aromatic intensity, with notes of mango, guava and lychee, combining all of the typical aromas of Malvasía Volcánica. Little by little it evolves towards white pulp fruits, with notes of citrus and orange blossom.

Mouth
The wine expresses its freshness and liveliness combining tropical flavours, particularly pineapple and guava with a touch of citric lemon. A balanced wine that lingers long on the palate.

Food Pairing
A must with grilled white fish, calamari or simply with friends.

Ordered a case of Yaiza Secco Blanco; 48 hours later it's arrived, well packaged and quick delivery...what more do you want? (Apart from being in Matagorda drinking the wine).

I had been looking online for somewhere in the uk that sold artemi honey rum, (after my duty free bottles had been drunk from my last visit to Lanza) I had a google to see if it was sold in the uk, so I was happy to come across Wine Shop Lanzarote. They were the best priced site that I found, and delivery was approx 5 days. Yes it is more expensive then buying it in Lanzarote, but this stuff is so nice especially on a hot day, and it's good to know that I can get it here in the uk.

Great Service :-)
I've ordered from Wine Shop Lanzarote twice now, and have been very satisfied with the ease of ordering on the site, the communication from the company and the speed at which the wine was delivered safely. Ollie and the team are doing a great job - and providing a fantastic service to give us the chance of tasting the wine from our favourite island, particularly valuable during a time when we can't get there ourselves.

Excellent wines at reasonable prices: these are not large scale ‘industrial’ vineyards but small artisanal vineyards working on uncompromising terroir with locally specific varietals like Malvasia. Unique wines & vermouths, so naturally slightly more expensive than run-of-the-mill stuff, but top quality and definitely worth it. And I had very good service from Ollie & Co.
