Bodegas Rubicón
Winemaker: Bodegas Rubicon S.L.

The building where Rubicon now stands is the oldest of the world famous La Geria wine region. The land, building and close-by chapel are the remains of the country house know as “La Geria” that gave the region its name and predates the volcanic eruptions of Timanfaya.
Between 1730 and 1736, the estate fell victim to Lanzarote’s worst period of volcanic eruptions, leaving it completely covered in volcanic ash. Luckily, they were able to dig up parts of the premises and the chapel itself, which to this day remains in its original state. It is said that there, in 1735, the famous cultivation of La Geria first began. Thanks to this, it’s home to some of the oldest vines in la Geria.
The Bodega as we know it today began in 1979, in the hands of Don Germán López. Since 2009, the bodega has been restored with modern facilities, while conserving its heritage. Now, Bodega Rubicón produce a wide range of wines through two different brands: Rubicón and Amalia.

Ordered a case of Yaiza Secco Blanco; 48 hours later it's arrived, well packaged and quick delivery...what more do you want? (Apart from being in Matagorda drinking the wine).

I had been looking online for somewhere in the uk that sold artemi honey rum, (after my duty free bottles had been drunk from my last visit to Lanza) I had a google to see if it was sold in the uk, so I was happy to come across Wine Shop Lanzarote. They were the best priced site that I found, and delivery was approx 5 days. Yes it is more expensive then buying it in Lanzarote, but this stuff is so nice especially on a hot day, and it's good to know that I can get it here in the uk.

Great Service :-)
I've ordered from Wine Shop Lanzarote twice now, and have been very satisfied with the ease of ordering on the site, the communication from the company and the speed at which the wine was delivered safely. Ollie and the team are doing a great job - and providing a fantastic service to give us the chance of tasting the wine from our favourite island, particularly valuable during a time when we can't get there ourselves.

Excellent wines at reasonable prices: these are not large scale ‘industrial’ vineyards but small artisanal vineyards working on uncompromising terroir with locally specific varietals like Malvasia. Unique wines & vermouths, so naturally slightly more expensive than run-of-the-mill stuff, but top quality and definitely worth it. And I had very good service from Ollie & Co.
